Shelby has worked for Foliage Design Systems, Birmingham (FDS), for over 20 years. After graduating from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting), she began working for FDS as bookkeeper. Throughout the years, her responsibilities grew to other things including plant installation, plant maintenance and holiday décor. In 2018, upon her husband’s retirement, she became co-owner and now runs the business. During her many years of service to the company, her love of plants grew as did her knowledge of interiorscapes and plant design. It stands to reason that she now owns and runs Foliage Design Systems, Huntsville, as well (since early 2020).
She has very experienced, well-rounded teams of professionals for both her Alabama locations servicing Birmingham, Pell City, Auburn, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery and Huntsville.
Shelby has two daughters of whom she is extremely proud – one, an undergrad at the College of Charleston, SC, and the elder, a graduate of Auburn University, awaiting entrance into medical school. In addition to caring for plants, Shelby enjoys doting on her two King Charles Spaniels, Daisy and Bentley, reading, spending time with family and friends and time on the lake.

FDS provides a full range of interiorscape professional services that include the design, installation, and maintenance of live plants and decorative planters. We also offer extensive artificial foliage and holiday decoration services.
